It is an amazing experience to glide past the stunning coral formations and their myriad hues! The most delightful experience of scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef is your chance encounters with the thousands of varieties of marine life that inhabit the reef structure. There are hundreds of species of tropical fish in this region which also add more variety to the vivid colours of the reef.

Scuba diving is definitely more challenging than snorkelling, guaranteed, but it's not so difficult that you cannot learn it. To enjoy the thrills of scuba diving on the Reef, you needn't be a diving expert, a strong swimmer, a seasoned sportsman or even a person of high physical fitness. You just need to learn to use the diving gear and the basic skills of diving. The only requirements are that you are over 12 years old, you pass the on-board medical questionnaire and participate in our 30-minute brief.

Are you ready to take the plunge? Our qualified dive instructors are if you are! Rest assured they are always within reach to assist you through the entire session.

Ideal for first-timers

Michaelmas Cay is the perfect dive site for first-timers. The island is wind protected and its waters calm and shallow. What's more, the coral is within easy reach from the beach. You will learn to scuba dive in the shallows of Michaelmas Cay, and then when you are ready, you will dive deeper to explore the magic of the reef. Be assured your instructor will be always by your side to guide you.

Earn a certificate of recognition

You will be awarded a certificate of recognition after your first scuba dive. And you will carry home exciting memories to last a lifetime!

Our Dive Crew are on hand throughout the day to assist you and help make your day an unforgettable experience on the Great Barrier Reef. If English isn't your first language our multi lingual staff will be able to assist you in: French, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, Norwegian and Italian.
